Eerie ambience, visuals - in the spirit of Halloween

Image

TIRUCHI: It was spooky and at times scary. But, all in the spirit of Halloween.

An eerie ambience was created at a hotel, which organised the Halloween revelry here on Friday.

The dark hall had it all, a rubber skeleton hanging from the ceiling, gravestones made out of cardboard, scary visual and sound effects.

The hotel staff and those from the Blaze Nites Dance School were dressed up as ‘ghosts’ and added to the horror.

The members of the school also came up with a scintillating dance performance to some foot tapping numbers from the latest flicks. The three-hour programme had a host of interactive games. “The programme had an overwhelming response. The guests, including those from abroad, had a great time. The idea behind organising the event here was to give Tiruchiites the experience of a Halloween excitement,” said the General Manager, S. Gnanasekaran.

Varied menu

Prior to the gala event, special Halloween menu was made available at the Chembian Restaurant in the hotel from October 24. On Friday, the dinner buffet was a sumptuous spread of vegetarian and non-vegetarian items, the highlight being the names of the dishes – steamed rice (‘Vellai Pei’), egg pirattal (Maggot Mound), Pineapple soufflé (Vampire Delight), Green Salad (‘Azhagana Ratchasi’) and veg kofta curry (‘Kutti Chathangal’) to name a few.

“Such names were given to the dishes to suit the theme. And also lot of care was taken to come up with a menu that would tickle the taste buds of the guests,” said the Assistant F&B Manager, K. Prasanna.
