Those who have no knowledge of their family deities (Kula Deivam) may adopt Rathnagireeswarar as their family deity.

The Easwara grants boons of marriage, business development, children. Freedom from depression is attained here. Majority of the devotees visit the place for mental peace alone. While going up on the steps, the devotee breaths the air from the various herbal plants on both sides and get relieved from Asthma, Blood pressure, chest pain, joint pains etc.

The experience can be felt even in a single trip. Those doing so often are completely cured of these problems and this is the truth practically experienced by the devotees

Rs.43.87 lakh for improving temple amenities

TIRUCHI: The State Tourism Department has sanctioned Rs.43.87 lakh for improving tourist amenities and infrastructure at the Sri Erumbeeswarar Temple near Tiruverambur in the suburbs of the city.

The 7th-century temple, also referred to as the Malai Kovil, built atop a hillock, is a protected monument and is under the maintenance of the Archaeological Survey of India. The Shiva temple attracts a large number of devotees and tourists.

The Tourism Department has now sanctioned funds for developing amenities in and around the temple. Under the project, to be executed through the Tiruverambur Town Panchayat, the kirivalam pathway around the temple would be strengthened and improved.

A park would also be developed at the temple complex under the project. Besides, seating arrangements and lighting would be provided, sources told The Hindu.

Tenders for the project have already been called and work is expected to begin soon. The project would be completed in about three months from the date of commencement of the work.

The Tourism Department has also sanctioned Rs.27.40 lakh for building a bathing ghat on the Cauvery River near the Sri Tharugavaneswarar Temple at Thiruparathurai, about 20 km from here.

The temple was built and developed between the 6th and 9th century AD.

According to the sources, since a large number of devotees visit the temple, especially for ‘thulasnanam' (holy dip), apart from the bathing ghat and a change-room, the approach road to it would also be improved utilising the funds sanctioned under the Village Tourism Development Scheme.
